Maxim has been a committed trade union official and has served as President of the Isle of Man National Association of Headteachers. He is currently the Branch Secretary. During his time on the Isle of Man Executive Team he has led members through a successful industrial dispute with the Government and is experienced in high level pay negotiations. Maxim has successfully campaigned on a wide range of educational issues including the withdrawal of the proposed Education Bill and the need for cultural change across the Department of Education, Sport and Culture.
